We like to think that our big achievements, job title, and accomplishments define our identity, but I think there's something to be said about the way to choose to live our daily lives. How we treat others, spend our time, and even the way we choose to nourish our souls says a lot about who we are. I love what Erwin McManus once said: "The mundane spaces are our most creative canvas for our work of art." We have the ability to imagine and dream and the way we live our lives is our most significant work of art.
Most days my life doesn't feel very creative, but rather incredibly ordinary. But I love that there are small and simple ways that we can still bring joy, love, meaning, and intention into the world. What does that even look like? Perhaps its doing things to help make someone feel known, seen and loved. Perhaps it's helping someone in need. Maybe its creating something that others can enjoy or creating a space where community can grow. My intention this year is to create more beauty in the mundane and to be more mindful of the needs of others.
